Quantum materials
Increasing the understanding and controlling of quantum systems in the course of the last decade has yielded a rapid development of quantum technology, which aims at exploiting quantum phenomena as a resource to develop novel groundbreaking computing, communications, or sensing platforms.
Understanding how quantum phenomena arise in many body quantum systems and how to manipulate them is at the heart of the emerging field of quantum materials. To this aim, we develop novel experimental and conceptual tools to investigate the structure and dynamics of electronic or magnetic degrees of freedom in topologically non-trivial materials and/or in presence of strong electronic correlations.
We further conceive and realize devices based on quantum materials as well as on molecular systems that can be used to generate, store or transfer quantum states and will serve as building blocks for future quantum technology.
