Chemistry & Physics of Rare-Earth Materials
The rare-earths are a group of 17 elements comprising the metals of group 3 of the periodic table (scandium and yttrium) and the 15 lanthanides (lanthanum to lutetium). The term "rare-earth" is misleading, because these elements are more abundant than their name would suggest. The field of focus deals with the fundamental research of the chemistry and physics of molecular rare-earth compounds.
New Collaborative Research Center CRC 1573 “4f for Future” Focuses on Molecular Compounds with Extraordinary Properties.
As of January 1, 2023, the Collaborative Research Center will be funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) with more than EUR 10 million for a duration of four years.
CRC Spring Seminar Days 2023
This year's Spring Seminar Days for doctoral researchers in CRC 1573 will be held in Pforzheim on March 21 & 22. Please find further information here.
